GP Clinics

We offer a mixture of on the day appointments and routine appointments in person and face to face. 

All of our doctor appointment requests need to come through our Anima system so we can safely care nagivate you to the best service and most appropriate appointment.

Our GPs also have follow up appointments for them to book patients in who require ongoing care and support. 

We may also invite you in for an GP appointment if you have a health condition which requires a care plan, or if you have recently had a baby and need a postnatal check appointment. 

 

We have an Advanced Nurse Practitoner & Paramedic who provide support to our team of GPs. 

Nurse Clinics

The Practice Nurses (in association with the Doctors) offer the following clinics.

  • Monday – Friday 9.00am – 12.30pm
  • Monday – Friday 2.00pm – 6.00pm

Diabetic clinic
All diabetics should attend this clinic at least once a year for a check up with the nurse, especially if they do not attend the diabetic clinic at the hospital.

Coronary heart disease
All patients with coronary heart disease are encouraged to see a nurse at least once a year for a complete review.

Asthma – COPD
All patients with Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease see a nurse to monitor symptoms and inhaler technique to achieve optimum control at least once a year, more often if necessary.

Childhood Immunisation clinic

It is important that your child’s immunisations are kept up-to-date. Please bring your child’s red book with you to the appointment. Click here for more information.

Hypertension
In addition to seeing their own doctor, all hypertensive patients are encouraged to see a nurse at least once a year for a complete review.

Long Acting Reversible Contraception

Dr Mughal & Dr Bremner are able to fit, remove and replace coils & implants at the Surgery following a discussion with a GP/ANP. 

Menopause and HRT
A one-off check and discussion of menopausal problems and advice.
An annual check with a nurse for those on HRT. For continuing therapy patients are reviewed every six months, alternating with a nurse in the clinic and the doctor on a routine appointment.

Minor surgery
This is arranged by special appointment with your own doctor.

Oral contraceptive check
A routine check for those taking the contraceptive pill carried out every year with a nurse. Patients only need see the Doctor if there are problems.

Smoking cessation
We can offer initial one to one consultations to help you stop smoking with follow up consultations to support your efforts. Please telephone to book an appointment with our Health and Wellbeing Coach.

Travel clinic
Please contact us to request a travel questionnaire. Once reviewed we can advise on what vaccinations you may require and offer an appointment as necessary. 

Vaccinations

We provide annual flu clinics for all ages as well as other routine vaccines such as RSV, Shingles and Pneumococcal. We will be in contact when you're eligible. 

Additional Support Staff

Through our Forest Heath Primary Care Network we have additional staff at the Surgery to provide care and support to our patients.

  • Pharmacists - We have a team of pharmacists who perform medication reviews and update your medication repeats.
  • First Contact Physiotherapists - We have Ahmed & Chris at the Surgery one day a week who can see musculoskeletal problems and refer onwards if needed.
  • Social Prescriber - a non medical service with the aim to support holistically by connecting you to support in the local community and focusing on improving mental and physical wellbeing. 
  • Health & Wellbeing Coach - holistic support with non-clinical lifestyle management such as diet, exercise, sleep, weight management and smoking cessation support. As well as low level anxiety, low mood and isolation. Self Referral link and more information here!
  • Cancer Care Navigator - provides support for patients following a cancer diagnosis - Meet Dawn

Non-NHS Services

A number of examinations and reports for special purposes are done privately and a fee will be payable.  Examples of these are: insurance forms, letters to solicitors, life insurance/assurance, fitness to drive, HGV/PSV medicals, holiday cancellation forms. Please check with reception for the most up-to-date of private work and fees.
